The next Shiur HaChodesh will be on TUESDAY May 23rd, in conjunction with Yom Yerushalayim, open to men and women. The speaker will be Prof. Smadar Rosensweig, sponsored by Marshall and Lisa Joffe.

We are planning to combine our commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Yom Yerushalayim with the last session this season of Shiur HaChodesh for Women by Women, on TUESDAY, May 23, with a major difference. We are welcoming both men and women and there will be no suggested donation. Mincha will be at 7:15, followed by the Yom Yerushalayim program and Prof. Smadar Rosensweig on the topic Professor Yaffa Eliach: My Mother's Odyssey from Yerushalayim d’Lita to Yerushalayim shel Zahav. The talk will be sponsored by Lisa and Marshall Joffe, with Ma’ariv to follow. Festive music and food will complete the evening.

For over a decade our Shiur HaChodesh for Women by Women has served to expand opportunities for advanced Judaic studies for women in Kew Gardens Hills and surrounding communities. It is a once monthly session of high-level text-based Torah study by some of the foremost women teachers and professors of Tanach, from both Israel and the United States.  Our sessions are held on Wed. evenings at 8:00 P.M. for approximately 1 hour. Light refreshments are served. There is a suggested donation of $4.00 for Etz Chaim members and $5.00 for non-members, with subscription for the whole series at the onset of each season. Sponsorship and support for sessions can be arranged by contacting Hadassah Waxman at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
