Benefiting the community since 2011, "Navigating the Medical System" presents a monthly lecture on a general medical topic, usually on the second Tuesday of each month from September to June, calendar permitting. The talks are given at the level of the medical consumer. Some of our forthcoming talks will be on stroke and the mobile stroke treatment unit, new methods of radiation therapy, genetics, arrhythmia and transaortic valve replacement, bariatric surgery and nutrition, hypertension and kidney disease, new medications of the past year, arthritis and robotic joint replacement surgery, and infertility.
The speakers are generally faculty members of Weill Cornell Medical College who work at New York Presbyterian Queens and often are chiefs of Service. The medicine is always evidence based. Our speakers stay to answer many questions and have uniformly been impressed by the quality and erudition of the questions.
